When PTSD felt like a battle I couldn’t win, lifting that barbell gave me control over something. It was like saying, “This is one thing I can conquer today.” And as I prepare for future cancer treatments, the discipline and resilience I’ve built through this simple motion remind me: I’m stronger than my circumstances.

Every time I lift that bar, it’s like I’m lifting the weight of my challenges and showing myself that I can overcome them. It’s not just a physical motion—it’s mental and emotional too.
