Today we will be making Home Made Fish & Chips. 

[Non Alcoholic or No Alcohol In the Fish batter ]

Ingredients For Homemade Fish and Chips:

​ 1 Kg White Fish.

2 - 3 Potatoes.

200 gm Self Raising Flour.
200 gm Rice Flour.
1 Tbsp Salt.
1 Tbsp Chilli Powder.
½ Teaspoon Turmeric.
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder.
400 ml Sparkling Water. 
Oil.

Preparation of Fat Chips For Homemade Fish & Chips:

Please peel the potatoes and cut them into thick or Fat Chips ( French Fries). 

Boil These fat Chips for 2 minutes. Then Drain the water and let them Cool down.These fat chips will be fried later.

Heat oil in a Deep Pan over High Heat.  Add the Partly Boiled Chips and Fry them. Stir & Fry for 4 Minutes.

Preparation of Fish Batter For Homemade Fish & Chips:
Please prepare the Batter for the Fish In a bowl By adding 200 Gm of Self Raising Flour,  200 Gm of Rice Flour, 1 Tbsp of Salt, 1Tbsp of Chilli Powder, ½ Teaspoon of Turmeric powder and 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder. Stir or dry mix them together.  Add 400 ML Sparkling Water and Mix the batter well. 

Fish Meat Preparation For Homemade Fish & Chips:

Sprinkle & Rub Salt on Both sides of 1 Kg White Fish Fillets and Leave it for 30 Minutes. 

Pour batter in a Shallow container. Dip the fish in the Batter as shown in the Video. Float the Fish in the Hot Oil and Cook for 2 Minutes.. Top Up the Batter if Required ( as shown in the video) This will add to the texture.

Lower the Heat to Medium heat and fry for 6 Minutes more.  Crisp Golden Brown Fried Fish is ready to be served . 


Serve Home Made Fish & Chips with Tartare Sauce & Lemon.
Total Cooking time is 8 Minutes.
2 Minutes High Heat.
6 Minutes Medium Heat.
