New Pedal Day: Boss IR-2

I plugged the Boss IR-2 directly to my Sony A7rII camera via the 3.5mm mic input. No physical amps and no other pedals. Just raw signal from the pedal.

All settings were dialed at 12 o’ clock. Of course you can tweak to your desired sweet spot but I always like how pedals sound set dead flat.

My take on this pedal is pretty good. For analog pedal lovers, this is pretty versatile and you’ll love it combined with your dirts, modulation and other analog pedals.

My current setup is a Line6 M13 stacked with several dirt pedals. With this setup I do not have an amp sim to use. Although I have several tube amps, sometimes I am on a gig where I have to plug straight to mixer or maybe record a video and missing an interface. This little pedal solves that. There’s nothing like a real amp but it’s a very convenient pedal that helps me shape my tone like an amp in several cases I mentioned above.

For its price? It’s….. okay… could be cheaper when the buzz about this new release settles down and when there’s enough supply. At the moment it’s hard to buy this thing. Until then…
