12th European Congress of Andrology & 18th Andrology Course

This year, on the 30th European Academy of Andrology (EAA) anniversary, Fundació Puigvert supported the European Congress of Andrology ECA 2022 that took place in Barcelona on the 19th, 20th and 21st October. During three days, the city gathered hundreds of researchers and other professionals working in fields related to male sexual and reproductive health. Exchanging ideas for promoting andrology in Europe and outside the old continent, and intensifying current activities related to Male Health Awareness are the main purposes of this biennial event. This year, as well, the 18th edition of the Andrology Course that Fundació offers every 3 years was held at the same time.

Talks, round tables and poster presentations on cutting-edge research issues covered the whole spectrum of basic, clinical and translational andrology including: applied genetics and testis cancer biomarkers, male contraception, sperm preservation, urogenital infections detection and treatment, and assessment of male reproductive system, amongst other topics.

The event showed a successful collaboration between the EAA and the Andrology section of the European Association of Urology (ESAU), as well as the American Society of Andrology (ASA), the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

The ECA 2022 also gave voice to young researchers through the Network of Young Researchers in Andrology session, ‘golden communications’ and ‘selected oral communications’.
