This is see in any age, but me commonly seen in young people . The other way which varicocoele can be detected is when the person visits the doctor for infertility problems. So when the doctor examines the patient he may find varicocoele and he might not have any symptoms at all. Now what does cause deceased number of sperms and decreased movement of sperms or morphology or shape of the sperms. This can cause primary or secondary infertility. What are the causes of varicocoele? it can be by birth because of weakness of the valves of the veins or it be acquired where there is some mass or swelling or tumor causing presure decrease of dilatation of veins in the testis and when you examine the doctor he may do some physical examination or ultrasound of the scrotum, which can detect varicocoele, fie here si a problem in infertility he may order semen analysis . The treatment of varicocoele depends on the grade. In mild grade there is no treatment. The doctor may advise you to avoid lifting heavy weights and use scrotal support, whereas in high grade varicocoele, or grade 3 varicocoele, the surgery is needed. The surgery is called as varicocoelectomy, in which a small cut is made in the groin and the veins which are dilated are ligated and divided. This procedure is a minor one and the patient can go home in the same day evening and resume his work the next 1 to 2 days. Most of the times the symptoms get resolved, the improvement of semen analysis can be seen in 30 to 40% of people and no in al. however there will be improvement in semen analysis after varicocelectomy.
