DataAnalysis is a general purpose iPad App for the plotting and fitting of all types of data that can be formulated as x, y pairs. The program can be used easily by both students and professionals. It is particularly useful for quick analyses of various types of data by curve fitting, value prediction via a standard curve, and analysis of kinetic data including enzyme kinetics. This tutorial explains how to perform error analysis with the DataAnalysis App.
There are two modes in which errors can be shown on graphs as error bars.

The first mode calculates averages and standard deviations of data sets that have one or more X, Y pairs that has the same X value. After the averages and standard deviations are calculated, the resulting information is used to plot the graph. At each X value the average Y is plotted with a user selected symbol and error bars are drawn indicating the corresponding standard deviation.

The second method of error analysis can be used if you know the approximate percentage error based on whichever method was used to determine the value. The user inputs the average error of the method and this percentage is applied to all the data points.
