Haryana: 1.7 lakh, including 40,000 graduates, apply for temporary govt sweeper job paying Rs 15,000 per month
In Haryana, over 1.66 lakh candidates, including more than 6,000 postgraduates and nearly 40,000 graduates, have applied for the position of sweeper in government departments, boards, corporations, and civic bodies, offering a salary of Rs 15,000 a month. The applications were made through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRN), the state government's outsourcing agency, from August 6 to September 2, a TOI report stated.

Manish Kumar, a postgraduate with a diploma in business studies, and his wife Roopa, a qualified teacher, are among the applicants. They note that jobs in private schools and companies offer a meager Rs 10,000 a month, making the government job more appealing.

"Even in private schools or companies, we barely get Rs 10,000 a month. Here, there's a glimmer of hope for regular employment in future. Plus, sweeping isn't a full-day job, so we can pursue other work during the day," said Manish
