Hey everyone, welcome back to g8stromania. We are about 1 month away from Dragon Boat Festival or 端午节. Previously we have shared a Hokkien rice dumpling recipe (   • 怎麼包福建咸肉粽 How to make Hokkien rice dum...  ) and it was pretty well received. So today, we are back with another rice dumpling recipe and this time, it's going to be on Nyonya Style Rice Dumplings/Nyonya Chang or 娘惹粽. The filling is sweeter than the Hokkien variant and they have a blue tint, like Porcelain China.

In this video, my mom will be showing the cooking and wrapping process. She will speak in mandarin and I will add subtitles for her. I will cover the remaining parts.

For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
About 70-80 pcs of Bamboo leaves
30 Rice Dumpling Strings
1 kg glutinous rice
5g dried butterfly pea flowers
20 shallots
10 cloves of garlics
120g of winter melon sugar
100g of dried mushrooms
600g Pork belly
Minced Soy bean paste
20g Coriander seeds
20g White Peppercorns
30 small pieces of Pandan leaves

Sauces used for filling:
1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
1/3 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Oyster Sauce
3 tbsp Minced Soy Bean Paste
2 tsp Sugar
