Light summer winds can be so frustrating but the 2018 Cabrinha Contra allows you to extend your riding time on the water with a highly responsive kite. The range of this light wind engine is very much based on rider weight. Lighter riders will enjoy the 13m and 17m Contra kite. They will not find much added low end power on the 15m or 19m but they will find a lot more depower which will lead to being overpowered as soon as the kite is flying. While heavier riders will find this extra power in the Cabrinha Contra 15m and 19m brilliant, as it will offer added pull to start jumping and riding upwind earlier than previous editions.

The 3 strut design and sleek wing tips of the Contra make it light and fast with easy relaunch in even the lightest winds. While the mid aspect ratio and draft forward profile keep the Contra stable and power delivery on tap as the wind picks up offering a good wind range. Each of the Cabrinha Contra kite sizes actually turn very well, responding like a much smaller kite, particularly when the larger bars or Cabrinha Overdrive bars are used.

Cabrinha Contra Wind Range -

In the world of light wind kiting wind range is critical as every knot counts. The 19m 2018 Cabrinha Contra has a wind range that starts at just 5knots and will be a topping out at 12 to 14 knots depending on rider weight. The 17m has a similar range to the 19m starting at 6 knots and pushing 15 knots at the top end. The 17m Contra generates power with kite speed, whereas the 19m is a really powerful kite from the get go. Riders under 85kg will not get more performance out of the 19m as the 17m. Although the 17m will give the lighter rider a much more comfortable ride. The 15m starts pulling at 8 knots and the 13m closer to 10 knots but again the heavier rider (90kg) will get more power from the 15m leaving the 13m for the lighter rider.
