Thenmathimangalam village, 30 km from the Tiruvannamalai district in Tamilnadu, the Parvathamalai Trek is one of the most sacred and exciting treks in southern India.

24/7 365 days temple is open and peoples are allowed to trek.foot of the hill annadhanam is provided at anytime

Yes, women are allowed to climb Parvathamalai, but it's best to travel with a male escort. The mountain is extremely dark, and some recommend traveling in a group. Some say that women can climb easily, and that there are fewer women, but it's safe to climb if you're escorted

The parvathamalai hills trek from the entrance point to the top takes about 3–4 hours. The climb down is shorter. The 5.3-mile trail is generally considered challenging and takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete

Parvathamalai Mountain in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu has over 1,200 steps. The trail starts at the Saptha Muni temple, where the motorable road ends, and continues through a dense forest. The trail has many rough stretches, including stone steps, iron rods, and chains. The steps are uneven, so you should use both hands for support and place each step carefully

The trek is 9 km long and takes you to a height of over 4,500 feet, with views of the Tiruvannamalai and Jawadhu hills. You can get water and snacks every 20 minutes

After climbing around 1500 steps, the stone steps ends and rock steps starts. Though is it not difficult to climb these steps, one has to place each step carefully and hold the rails, in order to climb safely, as the rocks are not smooth and uneven. One has to use both hands for support to climb the rocky path

The best time to visit parvathamalai hills is from September to February. The trail becomes slippery and more challenging during the monsoon season, making it harder to trek. In the summer, temperatures during the day commonly reach the upper 30s and can even surpass 40°C, increasing the risk of dehydration
