Our Fertility Journey - A Full IUI Cycle Documented

Curious about what an IUI cycle is like? While Intrauterine Insemination cycles may look different from person to person (some medicated, some not, and some longer and some shorter), the IUI procedure itself is similar for everyone. I Documented all of my visits and the steps in between. I did not include video footage of the blood draws that happen at each appointment leading up to the IUI Procedure. However, there is a brief moment where you'll see the trigger shot in the video (you'll know it's coming so you can turn away if needles make you queazy.)

Another thing I did not record are most of the calls later in the afternoon of each blood draw and ultrasound. Those calls let me know when my next appointment would be and if there were any instructions. One of those calls is included as it happened during one of my live streams!

If you are going through your own IUI cycle, note that I've included my follicle counts, uterine lining measurements, and blood work results. These numbers do not necessarily indicate a good or bad cycle. Always ask your health care provider about any questions you have about your own results. I am not an expert in this area. I'm simply sharing my experience.

The video begins with the baseline IUI appointment, which is on day 4 of my cycle. Baselines usually happen around day 3 or 4. Typically, on the first day of full flow menstruation, that's when you call the fertility clinic to schedule the IUI baseline appointment.
