Sir Muhammad Iqbal , was a South Asian Muslim writer, philosopher, Scholar and politician, whose poetry in the Urdu language is considered among the greatest of the twentieth century, and whose vision of a cultural and political ideal for the Muslims of British-ruled India was to animate the impulse for Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal was a philosopher, poet, and politician who is considered one of the most important figures in the history of modern South Asia. He was born in the city of Sialkot in present-day Pakistan in 1877 and is known for his contributions to Urdu literature and his advocacy for the creation of a separate Muslim state in the region.

Iqbal received a traditional Islamic education and studied at the University of Cambridge and the University of Munich, where he earned a PhD in philosophy. He was fluent in several languages, including Urdu, Persian, and English, and is known for his poetry and philosophical writing in these languages. His poetry, which often explored themes of spiritual awakening and the role of the individual in society, had a profound influence on the literary and cultural landscape of South Asia.

Iqbal was also politically active and was a vocal advocate for the creation of a separate Muslim state in the region. His ideas were influential in the development of the Pakistan Movement, which eventually led to the creation of the state of Pakistan in 1947. Iqbal is remembered as a national hero in Pakistan and is celebrated for his contributions to literature, philosophy, and politics.
