In June 2021 we took our 2019 Transcend Grand Design camper over on the Miller Ferry to camp at South Bass Island State Park Campground. We were very nervous about hauling it over on the ferry, we've never done it before. This video describes what you have to do, how they stage you and then load you, and how relatively easy it was for an experienced hauler. The cost round trip to the island and back was $186. This price included an F250 short bed truck, 32 foot bumper to bumper travel trailer, and 2 adults. You buy the tickets from your truck window before boarding the ferry. Don't lose your tickets for the return trip! The Miller Ferry workers will guide you onto the ferry, just watch them and they will take care of you. They are really great at what they do and very nice.
It was a great experience and we will definitely go again now that we know what to do.
