Railfanning Aldershot VIA-GO Station On Labor Day 2010 Part 1

Описание к видео Railfanning Aldershot VIA-GO Station On Labor Day 2010 Part 1

On Labor day, the last day before school I decided to go down to Aldershot VIA/GO Station in Burlington. I was able to do this because I was moving back to Toronto. I will be there Monday-Friday and I'll be living in St. Catharines Friday night through Sunday. I'll obviously be doing school in Toronto. Before school started though I wanted to get some good Railfanning in. I'd be dropped off and would stay there for about two hours. My first train would be a local switcher (train 550) switching behind the autoracks at about 1:50pm with GP38-2 4700 and GP9RM 4140. That would be the only time I'd see it. Soon GO 915 would arrive with cabcar 248 and MP40PH-3C 630. The train would have 12 Bi-Level coaches due to Labor day and the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) event. It would leave as GO 920 just a few minutes late. Ten minutes later GO 786 (Niagara Falls excursion train) would roar through on the third track bound for Toronto with MP40PH-3C 645 and cabcar 229. It would be 15 minutes before CN local freight 547 pulled in to do some switching with GP9RM 4181 and GP38-2 4728. I had very little notice of it coming so I decided it would be better to get a going away shot considering it had already passed my camera. Once it started switching, again almost unnoticed CN 435 pulled in with CN SD75I 5667 and CN (IC reporting mark) C44-9W 2715. It would start switching as well making Aldershot yard bustling as could be. Who knows, 550 could have still been in there? I never saw it leave. Next, we'd have GO 917 come into Aldershot with cabcar 253 and an unknown MP40PH-3C. I never got to see the locomotive number. It would leave as train 922 about 4 minutes late just as CN 435 was finshing its switching. 435 would then get a proceeding slow to clear signal to proceed off the local track and onto the mainline and head off to London on the Dundas Sub. CN 547 would roll right through on the local track adjacent to the mainline and would go right down to King Rd on the other side of Aldershot yard. The rest of the video and description will be in part 2.

Check my channel description for more details on my move to Toronto.
