Often in phylogenomic workflows there is a stage at which you want to compile data from many loci into one file. You have a series of files, one for each locus and listing the sequences for each of your taxa. However, the taxon names in the file may also include the locus name, as in "LOCUS34_SpeciesA-Specimen9837 |LOCUS34". This means that the same taxon is given a different name in each file. This video shows how to compile the files despite this by using Mesquite 4's Process Data Files command, and using a name adjuster to process the taxon names as they come in.
