Punch is a baby Japanese macaque born on July 26, 2025, at Ichikawa City Zoo in Japan. Recently, a viral video showed Punch being dragged during a social interaction inside a troop of 56 macaques. According to the official statement issued by Ichikawa City Zoo, the adult female involved was likely protecting her own infant, and Punch did not suffer physical injury.

After being rejected by his biological mother at birth, Punch was hand-raised by zookeepers. Today, he carries an orange IKEA orangutan plush toy — known as Oran Sam — which he has used for comfort since infancy.
