Reel Big Fish - (1995) Everything Sucks Album Release Party (VHS Home video)

Since it was the 27th anniversary of our first self released album “Everything Sucks” the other day, here’s some VHS video of the album release party in Orange, CA on May 5th, 1995.
Or as we called it “CD de Mayo” (Get it? Cinco de Mayo sounds like CD de Mayo?! No? Oh well.)

Fun facts:
* This show contains rare footage of Matt Wong jumping around and rocking out!

*Scott’s punk song, (possibly called “What the Fuck” but nobody remembers) was Scott’s first
song he wrote for RBF. Wish we would have recorded that one!

*This is one of the rare shows we played “Big Star” and “Boyfriend” live. “Boyfriend” was written by our original lead singer Ben Guzman’s brother’s band Dada Oboe.

*weird choice for a cover we know but for a minute there we were covering “Hurt” by Nine Inch Nails! It later evolved into a song called “Sleep All Day” and then finally “Song #3” featuring Coolie Ranx of the Pilfers. Too bad the camera battery died in the middle!
