Carrying my own to-go container is a great way to not only reduce waste, but also reduce microplastics! I love my little metal tiffin, I’ve had these for over 10 years now, and they’re still going strong. By opting for high quality items, I’ll hopefully never have to buy them again, and I LOVE a buy-it-once moment.

Another reason I like bringing my own coffee cup to the store is to avoid the micro plastics from sipping hot liquids through a styrofoam lid.

Most plastic coffee cup lids are made from plastic 6 which is polystyrene, the same thing that makes styrofoam. So even if you forget you reusable cup at home, you can just go sans lid with a paper cup.

I used to buy a lot of plastic water bottles while out and about, and now, I don’t thanks to bringing my own reusable water bottle. My poor @kleankanteen is pretty beat up but she’s holding on! Almost 10 yearsss together

Ok, I know you have a promotional tote bag lying around. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t have one - so get into the habit of using them! I love my @toogoodtogo bag and use it all the time. I also have a @christydawn on with pockets!

I love my local buy nothing group / just networking with your neighbors! I’ve used this old breadman bread maker and my @instantpotofficial weekly. I also got a replacement carafe for my @bodum French press which I use every single morning.

And, then lastly use every last drop of the products you buy. Cut open your tubes to use every last drop and then you’ll have clean recycling to boot!
I’m cutting my @toms_of_maine tube vertically like this to keep the material in tact together because their tubes are recyclable and this will keep it all as one piece.
