When I first hit the road as a traveling therapist, I received some pretty questionable advice:

‘Just pretend you’re still in your licensed state.’ 🤔🚫

But that just didn’t sit right with me.

Integrity is the cornerstone of being a therapist. I couldn’t just bend the rules or blur the lines about where I was practicing.

So, I dove deep into the laws—understanding every detail of my licensure regulations, liability insurance guidelines, insurance company restrictions, and terms of service of my EHR.

Navigating these waters wasn’t easy, but doing things right means I can serve my clients without compromising my values or professional integrity.
