Syrian migrants and refugees camped in the wintry cold at the Idomeni Greece-Macedonia border crossing remained defiant on Tuesday.

They say they will remain camped out at the border in the hope that authorities will open the crossing and allow them to continue their journey to more prosperous European countries.

European Union leaders said early Tuesday they had reached the outlines for a possible deal with Ankara to return thousands of migrants and refugees to Turkey.
