STORYLINE:
International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo arrived in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Thursday, for talks with government leaders.
He will meet key leaders of Kenya's coalition government about plans to prosecute suspected masterminds of the post-election violence a year ago which left more than a thousand people dead and hundreds of thousands displaced from their homes.
Ocampo was scheduled to meet Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga at the president's office on Thursday.
Kibaki and Odinga, the key contenders of the 2007 presidential election, formed a coalition government in a bid to bring peace to Kenya following Kibaki's disputed re-election for a second term.
Former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan mediated the peace talks and oversaw the signing of a peace agreement which, included among other things, the formation of a coalition government and the prosecution of perpetrators of the post-election violence.
Ocampo has been quoted by local media vowing to make an example of Kenya.
