Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer of expensive sports cars under the Lamborghini brand. It is located in the commune of Sant'Agata Bolognese, near Bologna. The company was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini; at that time he was already the owner of a large tractor manufacturing company.
Lamborghini himself owned it for another 9 years after the founding of the car company. The current owner of the company is Audi.

He also owned a Ferrari 250 GT of various versions. But he found some flaws in every car. There are several versions about the reasons why Lamborghini founded his own company. All these versions boil down to a conflict between Enzo Ferrari (the owner of the Ferrari company) and Ferruccio Lamborghini. The most popular version, told by Ferruccio Lamborghini's son, says that Lamborghini came to the factory to Enzo Ferrari to complain about the quality of the clutch in his Ferrari 250 GT car. Enzo sent Lamborghini back with a wish to continue working on tractors, because Lamborghini doesn't understand anything about cars, let alone sports cars. Lamborghini returned to the factory, disassembled the transmission in his Ferrari 250 GT and found that the manufacturer of many parts is the same as in Lamborghini tractors. He found a suitable replacement in his warehouses, and after the assembly the problem was solved.
