Sea Salt Production (VA 3/8/12/1)

An Essex Educational Video Unit production about the production of sea salt from 1979, in particular showing the processes carried out by the Maldon Crystal Salt Company Ltd. The video also looks briefly at the history of salt extraction in Essex.

Cover notes: "Salt has been extracted from the tidal waters round the Essex coast and from the Blackwater estuary in particular for centuries. The programme looks at the evidence of this and shows how the Maldon Crystal Salt Co. Ltd., the only remaining producer in the area, extracts salt."
