The crown of thorns was made from long, hardened Bethlehem thorns—thorns that dry into something sharp like nails. These weren’t decorative. They were pressed into His scalp, causing intense bleeding and humiliation. The soldiers weren’t just mocking a “king”… they were inflicting real, deliberate torture.

This wasn’t accidental.
It was prophetic.

📖 “They pierce my hands and my feet… they divide my garments among them.” (Psalm 22:16–18)
📖 “He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities.” (Isaiah 53:5)

From the moment Adam sinned, thorns became a symbol of the curse (Genesis 3:18). And on the cross, Jesus literally wore the curse on His head so we wouldn’t have to bear it forever.

The gospel is this:
Jesus took our shame, pain, sin, and death—so we could receive grace, mercy, and eternal life.

You don’t need to fix yourself first.
You just need to receive Him.

The crown of thorns reminds us:
