Body Pump Class Group Fitness Classes

Getting stronger, together. “We start from the top of the head all the way down to the feet. We start with the warm-ups to get the blood flowing, we do squats, we do lunges, triceps, biceps, shoulders, chest, we can get everything.” Lori Benton taught the body pump group fitness class at the Healthy Life Center Cape Coral. “You’re up and you’re moving, you’re getting those joints moving, whether you’re walking the dog, we’re taking a swim, you’re up you’re doing something, you’re moving and that’s the benefit. You’re getting the blood flowing and the heart rate up.”

Participants like Marnie Keller are feeling the burn. “It’s amazing within three or four of those classes, you’ll see differences in your muscles and everything,” said Keller. The group environment keeps her more motivated. “If I did it by myself, I would probably after about three times I would say OK I’m tired, I can’t do it anymore, but with a group you feel like you can’t stop.”

Body Pump is just one of many group fitness classes offered at the Healthy Life center. There’s something for all ages and skill levels. “For some people, it’s a little bit harder to get on the ground; you don’t have to get on the ground, you can use a chair, you can use the wall, you can use the mirror, just whatever you feel comfortable with.
