There are no words for what Indigenous NYFW felt like—only moments: The morning rush to get ready with the stylists. The hum of the music during final rehearsals. The quiet pause before the lights hit the runway. The explosion of pride, power, and beauty that only Indigenous fashion can bring.
Designers, models, and artists came from every corner—the Southwest, the Pacific Northwest, even South America. Backstage it was go, go, go: fittings, makeup, music, laughter, and those wild last-minute touch-ups before the grand finale. Every moment felt electric.
I left New York with a full heart and endless gratitude. Everyone who showed up, worked hard, shared space, and celebrated each other made this magic real. This week reminded me why we do this: community, creativity, and love in motion.
