Weifang, the hometown of kites. The earliest human activities in this ancient city located on the Shandong Peninsula can be traced back to the Neolithic Age. In the long slave society and feudal society in ancient China, Weifang brought out talents, such as Yan Zi, the envoy to Chu, Gongye Chang, who was fluent in bird language, and Liu Luoguo, the prime minister who is well-known to the Chinese, all came from this hometown of kites. There are many places in China with city walls, and Weifang is one of them. The city walls here used to be the standard configuration of ancient cities, with gates and corner towers. The old Weifang city wall, which was credited during the Tongzhi period, only had four gates: Chaoyang, Ying'en, Anding, and Wanghai. In the Republic of China, the East Gate was rebuilt and a large clock with a Western style was installed. After the city was demolished several times, the city wall is no longer as majestic as it was in the past. Only in a few well-preserved places can we imagine the four-sided siege.
