In tennis, against a patient foe,
Who grinds the points, just making balls flow,
Respect and patience, we must employ,
For grinding tactics can often annoy.

These warriors defend with every might,
Without the aim to seize the winning light,
They make you work, chase every ball,
And leave you puzzled, stuck against the wall.

But don't despair, let frustration subside,
For there's a strategy, you must abide,
Make good decisions, match their thought,
Chip away at them, as battles are fought.

Make them uncomfortable, use tactics sly,
Deep shots, topspin, and the ball up high,
Their weak spots you'll find as you aim and you fire,
Your point tally rising, your game rising higher.

A little slice short, or a chip to the net,
Put them on the move, make them start to fret,
They'll have to attack, or to make their stand,
Then you counter with skill, the upper hand.

Be ready for the long game, no shortcuts to take,
Epic rallies and patience, they're the stakes,
With a strategy and focus, in your arsenal deep,
Against the grinder's persistence, victory you'll keep.

So next time you face that relentless foe,
Remember these tips, and let your confidence grow,
For even a grinder, with their patience and might,
Can be beaten with wisdom, in the tennis court fight.
