Across nations well known for their educational infrastructure, there is a concept of recognizing & supporting such higher educational institutions which have the potential to become world-class universities. In Germany, such Universities are recognized & given the status of University of Excellence. In the state of Florida, USA universities are given the status of Pre-eminence.
A similar initiative was proposed by our honorable finance minister in the year 2016.
Accordingly in 2017 UGC passed the Regulations of Declaration of Institution of Eminence. Under this regulation it was decided that 10 government universities & 10 private universities will be given the status of IoE. In this video we will discuss
• Which institutes in India have been recognized as the IoE .
• What perks & recognition do such institutions get.
•Most importantly what benefits does this regulation have for the PhD students.
