Marc Ribot has been one of my favourite players for more than 25 years now!.. His playing has had a huge influence on me and was one of the big reasons I got into Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz.
I often recommend students of mine to explore Marc’s playing as to me, it is a perfect middle ground of gypsy jazz and blues with some punk attitude and an serious edge! If you’re looking for ways to get out of the pentatonic prison, this is where you need to start.
