Mesmerising Mushrooms Release Wisping Spores

Nature photographer Jose Villareal caught the last moments before a mushroom dies, as billions of spores drifted away in a smokey and swirling effect.

The viral video was recorded in Camarines Sur Capitol Forest Reserve, located in the Philippines on September 19.

Jose captured the plethora of spores that were swept away by backlighting the unknown species of fungi.

The white light captured the beautiful smoke effect as it left the mushroom.
