Tata Sumo ruled Indian roads 20 years ago. And 99% of you might be thinking that the name Sumo in Tata Sumo would have been taken from Japanese sumo wrestlers but it is not so! At that time all the top executives of Tata Motors used to have lunch together. But a Tata employee used to leave quietly during lunch (and return only after a few hours). When some people became suspicious of him, one day they followed the guy and saw that he was having lunch at a highway dhaba with truck drivers (instead of going to some fancy five-star restaurant). Who used to drive Tata truck! These people came to know that the guy was doing all this to find out the real time experience on Tata vehicles, how the Tata vehicle runs and whether there is any problem, so that later he could use it for his R&D. Can send to D team. That's why when Tata decided to launch its superstar car, they named it Sumo, after the guy whose real name was Sumanth Molgaokar i.e. Su Mo!
