Malik clarified that Congress was not behind this protest.

Sakshi Malik said that many allegations were made that the career of these players is now over. One of them was proved by Vinesh Phogat, she went to play in the Olympics again. If it had been over, no one would have let her go to the Olympics. This proved Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's statement that these people are finished, that's why they protested. Malik said that we did not go directly and start the protest, rather Vinesh Phogat first met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and told him all the problems. After this, there was no response, that's when we chose the path of protest.
