Elevation: 14,429 feet (2nd highest in Colorado, just 11 feet shorter than Mt. Elbert)
Location: Sawatch Range, near Leadville, Colorado
Popular Route: East Slopes via the Mount Massive Trail from the Halfmoon Creek Trailhead
Distance: ~13.5 miles round-trip
Elevation Gain: ~4,500 feet
Difficulty: Moderate to strenuous (Class 1 trail, non-technical)

Start early to avoid afternoon thunderstorms
Bring layers — weather can change fast
Fuel and hydrate often — the elevation is no joke
