The Materials Characterization Lab: Introduction to the Techniques of Mechanical Characterization

In mechanical characterization, you deform your material, and then you
measure the applied load or force. Mechanical experiments used in mechanical characterization may include tension testing, compression testing, a shear experiment, a bending experiment, and an indentation experiment. Then, the experimental parameters are measured. Our lab has expanded capabilities and knowledgeable staff in characterizing the mechanical behavior and properties of materials.
