Anomalocaris was a major predator in the Cambrian seas for about 530 million years ago. The name comes from the Greek words for "unusual shrimp". It was a large animal, growing up to six feet long, with a segmented trunk, a prominent tail fan, and stalked eyes with thousands of lenses.
It was bilaterally symmetrical and dorsoventrally flattened, with a non-mineralized exoskeleton. Its head region had a circular mouth apparatus with spiny plates, and one pair of anterior appendages. It also had at least 11 lateral swimming flaps with gills.
It may have used its front appendages for tearing, and its underside spines for filtering sediment and trapping smaller prey. Once prey was found, it would curl its appendage around to pass the food into its mouth.

Arthropleura:
Arthropleura is an extinct genus of millipede-like arthropods that lived in North America and Europe during the Carboniferous and Permian Periods, about 350 million years ago. They were the largest invertebrates to ever live on land, weighing as much as a large dog and reaching lengths of over 6.5 feet (2 meters).
Arthropleura had a long, narrow, segmented body, a hard-plated back, and many pairs of jointed legs on its underside. A recently discovered fossil in Northumberland, England, estimates that Arthropleura was about 2.6 meters long, similar to a small car.
Arthropleura are related to centipedes and millipedes, and are known from their fossilized exoskeletons.
