Gator EV Project #3 - Convert your Gas John Deere Gator to an EV

Описание к видео Gator EV Project #3 - Convert your Gas John Deere Gator to an EV

Reworking a gas Gator to electric.

Components from HPEVS: AC20-03.27.8 AC Electric Motor
AC F6-A 48-650-101 48V 650A
CAN Gauge 3140 (the one on the dash)
AEV250GE Contactor
Part PB-8 Potbox
Part 1313K-4331 HHP KIT GEN 2 OEM Handheld Programmer
Universal F-Series Generic wiring harness REV A (worth every penny - I did end up removing all the wires from the harness that I’m not using)

Batteries from BatteryHookup.com and I used the SPIM08HP in a 13S (13 in series so 3.7 volts * 13 = 48.1 volts), 4P (so 4 strings in parallel). These batteries can handle 200 AMPS continuous and they are cheap! BMS - I had 100 AMP 48 Volt Dalys (from eBay). Battery Hookup has a much more substantial BMS - 300 amp for about $130 I think. I decided to try the Dalys since I had them from another project. I ended up wiring the inverter/contactor direct and now only use the BMS for charging.

They say when Bill France started NASCAR he would run an engine on a dyno until it blew up! Tear it down to see what broke, beef that part up on the next engine and back to the dyno again. That’s more or less my process here. There are some parts that look iffy but the gator is very light so we will just have to see.
