Talks between Israel and the Palestinians have been deadlocked for fifteen months, largely over a long-overdue Israeli troop withdrawal from the West Bank called for in signed peace agreements. The issue was sure to feature at sunday's weekly cabinet meeting which took place in Jerusalem. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday (28/6) of trying to escape commitments in signed peace accords by calling for a new international conference on Middle East peace.
