Walk beneath a majestic, cathedral-like canopy of one of the largest surviving collections of American Elm trees in North America. This stunning horticultural feature provides welcome shade and creates an unforgettable setting in every season—from vibrant spring green to breathtaking autumn foliage.

The southern end, known as the Literary Walk, features statues of renowned writers like William Shakespeare, Robert Burns, and Sir Walter Scott. Continue north on this unique formal feature, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, toward the magnificent Bethesda Terrace and its famous fountain.
