The Lights in The Castle

I guess I've got nowt but time to atone and,
I guess I got used to life here alone and,
The lights in the castle went out and I never looked back.

Like bobby found bread, now he's happy without it,
Like Janey got sick and did something about it,
The lights in the castle went out and I never looked back.

You can play all the games you like,
You can ride all the horses while riding all the bikes,
You can have all the cakes while eating all the cakes,
You can handle and maul them while comparing all the best bakes.

You can play all the games you've played,
You can keep it up forever, negotiate and trade in,
All of your tomorrow's for more days like today and,
All of your relationships for more games you can play,
But don't scream and don't shout,
When the lights in my castle go out.

Well I guess I've got nowt but the joy of behaving,
The way that I like, watching telly and painting,
The lights in the castle went out and I never looked back.

These may be my last weekends hitting the town but,
I'm making new friends and getting around but,
The lights in the castle went out and I never looked back.

You can you can push all the buttons in,
You can send me those midnight messages again,
But I'm out getting published like I couldn't have done back then,
Getting creative and fulfilled over again.

And you can Jones for your better days,
When putting out, then holding back was all part of the way,
I was labelled and lethargic as a panda, not
Mobile and motivated as I am now.
I'm phasing you out,
As the lights in my castle go out.

Poor little sunflower got her own way,
Until the lights in the castle went out to stay.

Poor you,

Pour me one too.
