Bernard Hill, Théoden, and Kingship

Bernard Hill's passing affected me in a way that I was not expecting. He was a very talented actor, but I don't know him personally. As I was thinking about this, I realized there were several things that I wanted to say about his performance as King Théoden, the character, and what true kingship is. We love stories and characters that speak to the deepest parts of who we are, and I believe there is so much in the character of Théoden that exemplifies the things which we desire. I hope you find these thought to be encouraging. "Forth, and fear no darkness!"
