Devon Walker is saying goodbye to Saturday Night Live*. The comedian, who joined the NBC sketch series three years ago, revealed in an Instagram post that his time on the iconic show has come to an end and he didn’t hold back about the highs *and lows of the experience.
“To me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages. Some of em last for a long time if we’re lucky, but most of them are fleeting. Permanent until they’re not,” Walker wrote. “Me and the show did three years together, and sometimes it was really cool. Sometimes it was toxic as hell.”
Despite describing his SNL stint as a “F***ed up lil family,” Walker expressed gratitude to fellow writers Alex English and Gary Richardson, longtime collaborators with whom he once ran a small comedy show in New York before making it to 30 Rock.
Walker later clarified on his Instagram story that the news was cause for celebration, not sympathy.
Walker’s departure comes as SNL heads into a new season, sparking speculation about fresh cast shake-ups and who might step into the spotlight next.
