When the passion for a dance gets together with the beauty of a city, magic happens.

After several months of planning and image capturing, the Lindy Hop community of the city of Porto finaly did it – we are now pleased to introduce to the world "I CHARLESTON PORTO".

Our video is a special vision of the balance between the beautiful colors and places with the sweetness and happiness of the people of Porto.

"I CHARLESTON PORTO” is the story of a tourist wandering around Porto and a group of Lindy Hoppers dancing across the city, spreading love and happiness. The story is about the mismatches that appear to move the tourist, himself a Lindy Hopper, away from the members of the community. The circumstances change at the end of the movie, when the tourist finally joins the Lindy Hoppers.

The buildings and streets of the "Invicta" city embrace the rhythms of the dancers and become the stage for all the action. Serra do Pilar, Ponte D. Luís, Cubo da Ribeira, Avenida dos Aliados, Torre dos Clérigos and Mercado do Bolhão are just a few examples of the many iconic places shown on movie.

This production was made possible by the desire and will of some volunteers, supported by the vintage dances schools in Portugal – Swing Station and Hop Dance Studio – and by public entities such as Casa da Música, Porto Lazer, Teatro Nacional São João, Estação de São Bento and Museu do Carro Elétrico.
