The 129th Constitution (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday for one country, one election. Electronic voting was first conducted for the bill. After objections from some MPs, voting was done again through slips to modify the vote.

269 votes were cast in favour of introducing the bill and 198 against it. After this, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced it in the House. Amit Shah said in the House that when the bill came to the cabinet, Prime Minister Modi had said that it should be sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). The Law Minister can make such a proposal.
लोकसभा में मंगलवार को एक देश, एक चुनाव के लिए 129वां संविधान (संशोधन) बिल पेश किया। बिल के लिए पहले इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वोटिंग कराई गई। कुछ सांसदों की आपत्ति के बाद वोट संशोधित करने के लिए फिर पर्ची से मतदान हुआ।

बिल को पेश करने के पक्ष में 269 और विपक्ष में 198 मत पड़े। इसके बाद केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने इसे सदन में रखा। अमित शाह ने सदन में कहा कि बिल जब कैबिनेट में आया था, तब प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा था कि इसे संयुक्त संसदीय समिति (JPC) को भेजना चाहिए। कानून मंत्री ऐसा प्रस्ताव कर सकते हैं।
