Toshiba PT470 Cassette Deck Tape Player | Repair and Review

While visiting a local auction, I bid on and won this strange old cassette deck. Can we get it to work, and if so, will it sound any good?

Toshiba made these cassette decks way back in 1974, and while the top loading design is a bit unusual today, back then it was a bit more common. One thing is for certain, the build quality of this tape player is solid!
