Sailing without shade on a sailboat gets old after a while. I've thought about the placement of a bimini for sometime on this boat. The mainsheet in the middle of the cockpit makes it difficult to have a bimini for shade, as well as considering the jib lines and split backstay. This is the best compromise I can come up with without moving the mainsheet to the back of the boom and attaching it to the transom, which would create it's own set of problems. I haven't used a backstay tensioner on this boat and enjoy sailing without one so far. That would be one of the drawbacks to what I have made here.
