“With me, it’s an eventful week if I have to change the typewriter ribbon.”

The documentary series One Man’s Week followed various celebrities through a week of their life, capturing their turbo-charged highs and lows, and the everyday drama that accompanied being in the public eye. Kenny Everett, Vivian Stanshall and Frank Carson were some of the eccentric and larger-than-life personalities that featured.

At the opposite end of the exuberance spectrum, Alan Bennett had his own episode - one in which he bemoans the format, discusses picking his nose, visits the dentist and then relates the history of Primrose Hill in London.

It is possibly the most Alan Bennett TV clip imaginable.
