Luberon Villages - Bonnieux & Lacoste

In Part 3 of our Luberon series, we visited the beautiful towns of Bonnieux and Lacoste. Only 12 kilometers from Buoux, Bonnieux was built on a plateau above the valley and is considered one of the finest villages in the area. As you approach the area, you will see the church tower of the village well before you arrive in Bonnieux. At a height of 425m, the tower dominates the countryside and the surroundings of this charming village. Note though that there are two nearby churches - a modern one (built in 1870) at the foot of the village and a 12th century stone church on top of the hill.

Before the day ended, we visited the village of Lacoste located just 5 kilometers from Bonnieux. Lacoste is a village built on a hill with a commanding view of the Luberon plain. The streets of this town go up and down, wind their way through a charming little labyrinth, it is with delight that you will discover step by step a village that has kept all its character.
