We all believe Zakāt is one of Islam’s greatest revivalist and revolutionary tools for economic justice. However, in America, Indigenous (African-American, Hispanic & White) Muslims in need are rarely centered in the Zakāt conversation, and Indigenous (African-American, Hispanic & White) leadership is often excluded from shaping it.

This video addresses that reality and calls for a more serious, grounded academic discussion on how Zakāt can truly serve Indigenous communities.
