On may 5th, A federal Judge will decide to approve a class action settlement in regards to the Kalamazoo oil spill in 2010.. Which has already seen over 1 million gallons cleaned up according to the EPA ( despite enbridge reporting around 600 thousand initially), this toxic oil known as Tar Sand oil ( and oil naturaully sold, which is fused with 100's of severely toxic chemicals) spilt into the Calhoun and Kalamazoo water systems. Of which Kalamazoo is considered the most "hydrologically connected" county in Michigan ( which is the countries most hyrdologiclly connected state in the country), which means the area's lakes and rivers are well-connected to groundwater sources. Although only 5 residents were aware of this class action case, it will apply to every resident impacted by the 35 + miles of acknowledged spill zone. Seeing most residents get a gift card and to see the company enbridge control wter testing. This settlement is a sherad intended to block residents from creating a court case against this mega corporation that makes 40 million dollars a day. to avoid coming health impacts they know they will be liable for.
